About SCMA

The Sonoma County Medical Association (SCMA) is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit association that supports local physicians and their efforts to enhance the health of the community. Founded in 1858, we are affiliated with the California Medical Association and the American Medical Association.

We are governed by a board of directors composed of physicians who practice in Sonoma County. We envision SCMA as an organization welcoming all physicians, respecting diverse interests and acting as a unifying force in the community by working to:

Encourage mutual physician support and understanding.

Strengthen and expand the role of the physician as patient advocate.

Enhance physician leadership and success in the health care arena.

Improve the health and well-being of the community.
